Evangelism – know that you are equipped

Mark 16:15 ¹⁵ He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 ¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

How do you preach the gospel to people ?

• 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, says to preach the Gospel to reconcile others to Christ. This means you should minister to “others” who are people of different gender, origin, age, social background etc.
• Ask the Lord for strategy how to reach others in your sphere
• Plant a seed in people
• Tailor the messages you give to the specific needs and background of the people you interact with
• You can reach people everywhere:
  • on the Street (flyers, conversations e.g. when waiting in the bus stop eg)
  • social media (facebook, snapchat etc)
  • at missions
  • in the workplace
• Become a willing apprentice of Christ
• Most important is to show Christ by being an example: show reliability, integrity  and kindness.

What you should be aware of!

• Do not be discouraged if people react negatively
• Be aware of reverse engineering evangelism: Do not allow people to change your faith in the Lord.
