Psalm 121:7-8New International Version

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;

Psalm 143:11New International Version

11 For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life;
    in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

 

What does it mean that God provides preservation?

  • God will preserve your life, family, children, job etc. so that you can concentrate on entering your destiny
  • God’s children will receive:
    • Protection by God
    • Guidance by God
    • Favour by God

Who is receiving God’s preservation?

  • Those who surrender themselves and their agenda to God
  • Those who have the gift of the Holy Spirit
  • Those who follow the rules of the kingdom
  • Those who have a clear allegiance to God’s kingdom

God’s preservation is similar to a Protectorate

  • A Protectorate is a relation of a strong state to a weaker state, where the stronger state protects the weaker one.
  • God forms a Protectorate with each of it’s children

What jeopardizes the protection?

  • Sin (even if you think its secret)
  • Idolatry (attach a higher value to things like Body, Books. TV, etc)
  • Not actively contributing to the Kingdom
