Leviticus 22:3

 “Say to them: ‘For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the Lord, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the Lord.

Exodus 23:29-30

 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

Mark 16:20

20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Why should we avoid sin and unrighteousness?

– because God is only present in our lives when we refrain from sin (see Leviticus 22:3)
– Evil practices form a barrier to God’s presence
What will happen if God establishes his presence?
– God will protect you, but you need to avoid inviting infiltrators (Exodus 23:29-30)
– Ungodly people in your environment increase the likelihood that you sin
What impact has God’s presence?
– God shows signs and wonders in your life (Mark 16:20)
– God shows you the path of your life and you receive joy (Psalms 16:11)
